CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE/EXCHANGES HAVE DETERMINED THE 2026 AGENDA FOR MARDIN; RING ROAD, GREEN AREAS AND DEVELOPMENT PLAN.

The Mardin Chambers of Commerce/Exchanges and Entrepreneurial Boards provided information on the following best practice examples they implemented during the period:

KTB (Mardin Commodity Exchange): Digital risk management studies, lobbying efforts regarding support for Mardin farmers, and receiving training on ‘General Requirements for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories’ during the ISO 17025 Accreditation process. KTSO (Mardin Chamber of Commerce and Industry): Completion of the new service building construction, audits in 10 firms related to Mardin Bulgur (a geographically indicated product), work with DÝKA (Development Agency of the Southeastern Anatolia Region) to obtain the ‘EU Geographical Indication’ for Mardin Bulgur, clothing assistance to 300 students in 10 schools, elimination of notary approval in trade registry decisions by 2026, and negotiations to reconcile two firms with commercial problems within the scope of mediation activities. MTSO (Mardin Chamber of Commerce and Industry): Feasibility studies for the Mardin Logistics Center (MARLOM), work on the Turkey-EU Business Dialogue II (TEBD II) Project, lobbying efforts including submitting reports on infrastructure and the textile sector to the Ministers of Transport and Infrastructure and Labor and Social Security, establishment of an EU Information Center, cooperation efforts with the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, work on the return process of Yazidi citizens living abroad, participation in the Anuga Fair in Germany, training on the use of e-Ledger and MERSÝS (Turkish Industrial Property System), district-based member consultation meetings, expert witness training and local product technical expert training within the scope of personnel training, coordinated work with Mardin Metropolitan Municipality, MARSU (Mardin Water and Sewerage Administration), and Akmercan companies in infrastructure works carried out by relevant institutions in Artuklu district within the scope of the Provincial Coordination Meeting, coordination with Mardin Metropolitan Municipality for the loading and unloading processes of goods for tradesmen within the scope of the Pedestrianization Project of 1st Street, participation in the Local Development Initiative Grant meeting together with Mardin Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and a sister city relationship with Osmaniye Chamber of Commerce and Industry. NTB: Presentations at the TOBB Joint Council Meeting regarding the renovation of Nusaybin irrigation canals and the opening of the Nusaybin Border Gate as part of lobbying efforts; negotiations with TMO regarding member transactions.
NTSO: Provision of digital tachograph (digital driver's license) services; comprehensive e-export training for members, management, and financial advisors in cooperation with DÝKA; negotiations with banks regarding member loans.
KGK and GGK: Factory visits for MAU students.

Mardin Chambers/Exchanges and Entrepreneurial Boards made the following decisions:

It was stated that an Education-Entrepreneurship Field Study, a MAGROTEX Fair Book Chapter Study, and a MAGROTEX’25 Fair Field Study were carried out within the scope of MAU-Chamber/Exchange Joint Academic Studies. It was decided to continue such studies. In this context, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed allowing the Academic Advisor to conduct field studies during the 2026-2030 period. Within the scope of institutional collaborations, the relationships of Chambers of Commerce/Exchanges with public institutions, private and mixed institutions were discussed. Emphasis was placed on the synergy that such collaborations would create, and a decision was made to continue them. It was decided that visits would be made to municipalities, public institutions, and private/mixed institutions, primarily the Mardin Governorship, starting in early 2026. Within the scope of institutional collaborations, the importance of joint work with Mardin Artuklu University was highlighted, and it was decided to increase academic and social studies. Initiatives regarding Mardin's chronic problems were evaluated. In this context, negotiations were held regarding Mardin's transportation infrastructure (Ring Road, City Traffic), green/social areas, and urban planning. The Chambers of Commerce and Industry decided that these three issues will be their top priorities in 2026, and that they will consistently and persistently pursue solutions to these problems by raising them on every platform.
It was decided that lobbying efforts will be intensified. In this context, it was decided that the Chambers of Commerce and Industry will effectively utilize their corporate websites, social media tools, and local/national/international media sources.
The importance of face-to-face initiatives, particularly regarding the resolution of Mardin's problems and the fulfillment of member demands, was also emphasized within the scope of lobbying activities, and it was decided to prioritize these.
The importance of Mardin promotional days and similar organizations was highlighted, and it was decided to support such events in terms of human resources, in-kind contributions, or financially, to the extent possible.
A review of the Mardin Chamber of Commerce and Industry Joint Project Team for the 2025 period was conducted. It was decided that the leadership of the project, currently held by NTSO, will be taken over by KTB in 2026.

It was decided that the 29th Joint Meeting will be held in March 2026, hosted by the Kýzýltepe Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
