Our Chairman of the Board of Directors, Secretary General and Accreditation Officer participated in a  project that will integrate vocational education with the real sector and a step was taken accordingly.

Cooperation Protocol on Vocational Education which was hosted by TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcýklýoðlu signed among Ministry of National Education and Turkish Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges (TOBB) and TOBB University of Economics and Technology  at the ceremony organized with the participation of National Education Minister Ziya Selçuk.

Hisarcýklýoðlu commenting on the protocol said that it is a historical day for both the education system and our business world. '' We are taking a step for something that we have voiced for years but  could not implement.  We are integrating vocational education with the real sector '' he continued.

Stating that the contributions of Ziya Selçuk, the Minister of National Education, are important in taking this visionary step, Hisarcýklýoðlu said '' We have seen how a Minister coming from the business world has broken the moulds. I would like to congratulate and applaud him for pioneering such a good work''.

Stating that companies have been complaining about the fact that cannot they find qualified workers to employ, the TOBB president said: '' In all over the country  youths are sitting unemployed in coffee houses. Why? b ecause the education we provide in schools is of no use abroad. The qualities demanded outside are not taught in schools.  We have to change this asymmetric structure. We have looked into the stuctures abroad.  Germany has the lowest ate of youth unemployment in Europe with 6 percent. hy, because they have integrated vocational education and real sector through chambers.

We boast that we have a young population. But in fact, we have not been able to utilize this potential. Many young people are unemployed because they have no profession. This is a big risk for the future. Here, the Turkish business world is assuming responsibility through our chambers and stock exchanges. Thanks to the courageous and determined policy of the Minister of Education, a new era begins in Turkey. We are moving into a new and dynamic model of vocational training prepared based on the demanded qualities in the market .

In this context, 81 vocational high schools in 81 provinces are covered by the protocol. We will ensure that the vocational training in these places is designed in line with the needs of the sector through our chambers and stock exchanges. We will establish workshops and laboratories in these schools and renew existing ones. We will launch R & D and Skill Design Workshops. We will prepare the educational contents with the support of TOBB ETU.

-Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk

Minister of National Education Ziya Selçuk said: "The existence of TOBB and our cooperation with this union is of vital importance as the driving force of our economy.  We express this importance directly through the relationship between economics and education. Because, if a middle income trap is mentioned in the economy, this is actually a secondary education trap. In other words, if our education improves, our economy will get better. In this context, we are happy to be taking such a step. I think the main point here is the transformation in professional and technical education.Within the framework of this transformation course schedules of vocational and technical education, teacher trainings, execution of work and operations ,transition to a production-based education show that the paradigm in vocational education will change. This is not a matter of our decisions within the Ministry of National Education, but a matter that will be moved to a certain point and efforts of our school representatives and the efforts of our school principals. Therefore we have to put out our efforts unstintingly and show our support''he said

Minister Selçuk stating that they as educational community are trying to do their part in line with 2023 objectives .''Of course we have we have expectations from the business world. They are also within the framework of this protocol, they have a great responsibility to give the necessary support.I would like to thank all business representatives for this. Because I think we have no excuses. We had some issues and expectations they all were fulfilled. Let me give you a simple statistic data. In Germany, 80 percent of vocational technical schools are schools supported by the private sector. This rate is around 4 percent in Turkey. When discussing all of this, it is better to take a wider perspective with more relaible statistical datas. think that the work we do in all these 81 provinces is a beginning. I think that this study will especially affect our other technical technical schools and that our teachers trained in approximately 130 thousand vocational technical schools  will also help them develop these projects.I think that this study will especially affect our other technical technical schools,  in this context our teachers trained in approximately 130 thousand vocational technical schools  will also help them develop these projects. The fact that  TOBB and TOBB ETU are carrying on this business together also shows the importance of the link between secondary education and higher education. The existence of TOBB-ETÜ is important in terms of reflecting this at secondary level. While maintaining all these efforts, we can easily say that a new era has started in vocational and technical education, that this is intertwined with the sector, and that production in our schools is a learning method. I am very grateful for the fact that such a long-dreamed study  which has been  worked on for many years, has been completed  today, and I would like to thank everyone who contributed. ''
