SOME SECTORAL PROBLEMS OF MARDIN EXAMINES IN DETAIL.
Mardin Artuklu University Public Private and Mixed Sector Cooperation Coordination Office (MAUKÖK) has carried out another of the activities that carried out in order to increase the added value level of the city and region by turning MAU into a ‘regional development-oriented’ institution. In this context, They published an editorial book titled ”Mardin's Sectoral Panorama; Some Thematic Problems and Solution Suggestions"
The book, which is a joint publication of Mardin Artuklu University (MAU) and the Chambers /Stock Exchanges of Mardin Province/Districts (Kýzýltepe Commodity Exchange, Kýzýltepe Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mardin Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Nusaybin Commodity Exchange and Nusaybin Chamber of Commerce and Industry), addresses various sectoral problems of Mardin and offers solutions.

In the work prepared under the editorship of Academic consult Prof.Dr Mehmet Behzat Ekinci, the agriculture, industry and service sectors of Mardin are discussed in various aspects.
Although it is mainly from Mardin Artuklu University, the focus of this study, prepared by 22 academicians working at different universities in Turkey, is the common denominator of Mardin. Within this framework, some structural problems of the city / region are identified and solution suggestions are made.
The idea of creating the work is based on MAÜKÖK and consultation meetings held with sectoral representative organizations in Mardin. public, private and mixed sector representatives who met with MAU academics in numerous meetings in 2022-23 held negotiations on agriculture, industry and services sector, especially grain, textile and tourism in Mardin and carried out brainstorming negotiations aimed at deciphering the structural problems of the city/region within this framework.
The first sections of the work in terms of sectors are based on the outcomes of these meetings. The other parts have been created with the contribution of authors from sectoral representative organizations, especially MAU academics. Brief information about the work is as follows:
.The work consists of 12 sections in total, four of which are aimed at the agricultural, industrial and service sectors. .‘Aims, findings and proposals’ of the section and a list of contents are given at the beginning of each section in order to better understand the content was given in English and Turkish. .At the end of the work, there is a summary file about some selected sectoral problems of Mardin and their solutions from the relevant institutions.
This work, prepared by academicians who are experts in their fields, has a quality that shows the practical equivalence and applicability of scientific information and theories. Therefore, the solution proposals for some of the problems put forward are based on a field study or an econometric analysis, so they can be applied directly by interested parties.
Of course, the work is not looking for a solution to all of Mardin's problems in this way. But it is also clear that it is an important step in terms of addressing some of the thematic problems of the city/region and focusing on solution proposals for them.
MAUKÖK plans to continue similar studies that address the problems of the city and the region and focus on their solutions by making collaborations with Chambers / Stock Exchanges and similar sectoral institutions in Mardin.
